Softball Winter Workouts Get Underway with Special Guest CoachUpdated Wednesday January 2, 2019 by LMLL.
LMLL Softball Winter Workouts get underway this weekend. The seven-session program for softball players 9-13 years old will run from early January through mid-March. Our reinvigorated offseason development clinics kick off on Jan. 6th with a special guest coach: Kenmore West High School softball coach Matthew Chimera.
Coach Chimera, the New York State Coaches Association Softball Coach of the Year in 2016-2017, has won 397 games during his 25-year coaching career and has coached his team to 12 Niagara Frontier League championships, four Section VI titles, three Far West Regional titles, and the 2002 New York State championship. His team also has won the Scholar Athlete Award for players maintaining a team grade-point average of 90 percent or better nearly every year he has coached. He was recently inducted into the Western New York Softball Hall of Fame.
We're fortunate to have Coach Chimera run this first clinic for us, and we're looking forward to growing and expanding the opportunities for LMLL softball players to play and develop.
